Drawing II: Structure & Light

Drawing II builds on the foundations of observational drawing by moving from simply seeing what is in front of us to understanding how it is constructed. Over four weeks, we’ll learn to break complex subjects into simpler forms, study planes and proportion, and use light and shadow to create volume and depth.

Using methods artists have refined for centuries, we’ll guide you from simple geometric forms toward increasingly complex subjects, including drapery, the human skull and head.

This workshop is designed for students with some basic drawing experience who want to move beyond outlines and begin building drawings with greater structure, dimensionality, and confidence.

This class meets on four Fridays from 6:30–9:30 PM:
August 28
September 4
September 11
September 18

$236 for all 4 sessions

A materials list will be provided upon registration.
